In order to introduce this breathtakingly intense new album step by step, the band have now launched a first song via their Facebook profile: Just visit www.facebook.com/leprousband and click on the "like" button to be able to check out the song "Restless". The band's vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg comments on the track as follows: "Restless represent "Bilateral" in many ways. It's complex, but at the same time catchy and plain. Even though it's one of the shortest songs on the album, I feel it's flavored with all the things that make LEPROUS special. It has the catchy chorus, it has the groove, it has prog'ish feel and last but not least it has the heaviness" Webmaster July 10, 2011 LEPROUS will have their release party for the new album ("Bilateral" - to be released on Inside Out Music / Century Media worldwide on August 22, 2011) at the venue Blå in Oslo, Norway on September 14, 2011. Webmaster June 29, 2011 LEPROUS, the Norwegian progressive/avantgarde metal band that recently signed a worldwide deal with InsideOutMusic can proudly reveal that it has chosen surrealistic American artist Jeff Jordan to create the artwork for their upcoming album, "Bilateral". See the stunning artwork below:
Commented vocalist/keyboardist Einar Solberg: "We are proud to announce that we're collaborating with the surrealistic American painter Jeff Jordan and the Spanish designer Ritxi Ostariz for the artwork on our upcoming album. Jeff Jordan (www.jeffjordanart.com) is probably best known from his work with The Mars Volta, and his paintings are highly rated all over the world. Ritxi Ostariz (www.ritxiostariz.xom) did the artwork for our previous album "Tall Poppy Syndrome" (released 2009 through Sensory Records) and of course we want him to be part of this new album - Ritxi too is a critically acclaimed designer, and in our opinion one of the very best in his field." The band's new album "Bilateral", which was skillfully mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street (Opeth, Pain Of Salvation, Devin Townsend, Symphony X, etc.), will be released on August 22nd, 2011 in Europe and August 23rd, 2011 in North America via InsideOutMusic. Webmaster May 03, 2011 In November 2010 we were the lucky recipients of 25.000 NOK, which one local band receives every year from Willy Strandli's Memorial Fund. Willy Strandli was a local musician who was quite significant for the local music scene in Notodden. Willy died in 1992 and 15 years later some local enthusiasts from Notodden came up with the idea to found this wonderful Memorial Fund. On Saturday the 14th of May we'll headline the memorial fund concert for Willy Strandli in Notodden Theater, which we of course are looking very much forward to! If you are close to Notodden the 14th of May, don't hesitate to take a visit! Leprous May 02, 2011 We're returning to ProgPower USA on Friday 16th of September, this time as Ihsahn's backing band. Last year we had a great time in Atlanta played there with Leprous, and we're not expecting anything less from the US crowd this year! Leprous April 26, 2011 Unfortunately the Kabuto Metal Festivals in Japan May 21st and 22nd have been cancelled due to the earthquake tragedy. We wish all the best for everyone in Japan, and hope to be able to come over there soon to perform. InsideOut has always been the label we’ve considered the most suitable for our music, so this is really a dream come true for us! We're ready to take LEPROUS to new heights in 2011, and the signing with InsideOut / Century Media is just the first step." LEPROUS are currently busy with studio work for their upcoming, still untitled next album, to be released via InsideOutMusic (Worldwide distribution through Century Media) after the summer of 2011. Stay tuned for more details to drop soon about an extremely interesting listening-experience coming your way soon ... Here's the first official picture of the new line-up:
Webmaster January 27, 2011 Leprous will be performing at the Kabuto Metal Festival first in Osaka, Japan on May 21st 2011 and then the following day in Tokyo, Japan. Also on the same two days, Leprous will be performing at the same festival as the backing band for Ihsahn. Webmaster January 20, 2011 We would like to congratulate our good friend and bandmate Ihsahn with the nomination for the Norwegian grammy awards "Spellemansprisen". We can't think of a person who deserves it more! Leprous January 18, 2011 The recording of our new album is now in progress! Tobias did an unbelievably good job with recording all the drums in only two days. The first eight (out of ten) tracks he managed to do in only one day. We will of course post a blog entry about the drum recording, which took place in Juke Joint studio in Notodden. Next up is the guitars! Leprous January 07, 2011 We're proud to announce that both Einar and Tobias from Leprous are contributing on the latest album by Star of Ash; Lakhesis. Tobias are doing all the acoustic drums, while Einar are doing both lead vocals, backing vocals or vocal harmonies on "Panther in the Glove", "Nona", "A thief in the night" and "The fooling of the fates". The album is in our opinion a masterpiece, and we are really glad to be a part of it. Also contributing on the album is the german musician and composer Marcus Reuter, who plays bass and touch guitars. We would like you all to support Heidi (Star of Ash) by buying her album here: http://store.mnemosyne.no/product/lakhesis-cd, or here: http://www.theomegaorder.com/STAR-OF-ASH-Lakhesis_3 if you live in the States. Don't hesitate, it's money well spent! Webmaster December 21, 2010 Big news Part 1 - Halvor Strand parts with Leprous: It's with sadness we announce that our bass player and good friend through many years Halvor Strand has chosen to quit Leprous. His decision to quit the band is completely undramatic, and is not based on any sort of conflict. We're all very sorry about this, but we respect his decision and wish him the best of luck in the future. Thanks for everything Halvor! We wish you all the best for the future, and we will follow your projects very closely! "I'm currently getting busier and busier with other projects apart from Leprous. This means that it came to a point where I had to make a decision. I could no longer "have my cake and eat it too" with all these different creative wheels in motion. Something had to go. Leprous deserves and requires that all members offers their 110 percent. My 110 percent started to get spread around in different projects. I had to follow my heart on this one - and I decided to pursue my own projects. An extremely difficult decision to make, since the option I chose means that I'm leaving an extremely good band made up of close friends and excellent musicians. I wish to thank Tor Oddmund, Einar, Tobias and Øystein for all the great times, and also the trying times that made us stronger! I know this band is destined for great things and I look forward to be an eager follower. I also wish to thank all our fans for being so great and supportive all along the way! This is it for me in Leprous, but it is definitely not it for Leprous! Go show them, guys! Signing off with hopes for the future and gratitude for the past, Halvor Strand"
Big news Part 2 - Rein Blomquist joins Leprous: Leprous are very happy to announce that we've already got ourselves a new bassplayer! We would like to welcome Rein Blomquist to the Leprous-family! Rein is known from the progressive metal band Aspera (now called Above Symmetry), which released their debut album on Inside Out last year. When we first got the news that Halvor wanted to leave Leprous, the first person we thought about as a replacement was Rein. Rein is a really solid bassplayer with lots of feeling and groove, and he is also a really nice person. Luckily Rein wanted to join the forces without to much hesitation, and he is now a full member of both Leprous and Ihsahn's liveband. Rein will handle the bass on our upcoming album, which we will start recording in January.

Leprous April 23, 2010 Norwegian avantgarde progressive metal band LEPROUS have launched what is believed to be the world's very first mobile website for a metal band. The site, www.leprous.net/mobile, is specifically created for use on modern day smartphones, such as the iPhone, the Blackberry and iPod Touch. With four times as many mobile phones with internet connection than stationary home computers, many businesses worldwide has found the need for updating their homepages to work well on the mobile platform. However, the music business has been lacking in this field and we're very proud to say that LEPROUS (to our knowledge at least) is the first metal/hard rock band ever to enter the mobile world with a homepage specifically designed for iPhone/iPodTouch/Blackberry. Leprous April 19, 2010 We really enjoyed playing on the intimate stage on Skuret in Oslo in February, so we've decided to return to Skuret on Wednesday the 5th of May (the day before our concert in Copenhagen).
